| Judging Requests - QuestsOnce you're finished with a quest, you can use this thread to request a moderator come and render a critique of your thread. For sake of simplicity, it should fall to either the game master or the starter of the thread to make the Judging Request, but players may decide amognst themselves who will do it. For modded quests, the mod acting as game master will simply take care of the critique upon the quest's conclusion. Only one post per request is allowed and you should be absolutely sure you're done with the quest before you post here, as it will be closed once the verdict is rendered. No one is allowed to edit their thread after a request to have it judged has been posted here. In posting here, make sure to use the following form: | Code: | Thread Title: Quest Type: (Solo, Group, Clan, Tournament, etc.) Link to Thread: Thread Starter: Players Involved: No. of Posts: Other Notes:
|
Any player wanting to request an item or ability (see below) will also have to fill out this form and PM it to the mod who's judging the quest:
| Code: | Player Name: Character Name: Reward Type: (Item, Ability, etc.) Reward Name: Reward Description:
(Repeat this information for multiple rewards or characters as appropriate.)
|
Failure to complete all aspects of these forms will result in your thread not being critiqued or your rewards being denied. Please be patient when asking for a review, since there may be a lot of other activity going on.
When a mod decides to take on the task of judging a particular thread, he or she will edit the request post stating, to the effect, that they have claimed it. Once the reviewing process is complete, the mod should edit the original post here saying something to the effect that it's been completed. If a lengthy amount of time elapses (like several weeks) and you don't hear anything regarding your thread, PM another mod.
In each thread, the players will be given an individual score of their RPing according to the Judging Rubric. Scores are unique to the individual and are meant to convey a general idea of where that player currently stands in terms of his or her writing ability. Note that each mod is different (we're not robots, after all), so no two judgments will be the same, even for the same players. That's just the nature of the beast. Take it for what it is: constructive criticism.
Also, please do not use this thread to complain about your scores. If you feel the mod who judged your thread made an error, forgot something, or didn't have a valid point, PM them. If the matter cannot be resolved, take it up with another mod or the admins. And do it with respect!
Quest Rewards
In character profiles, you are limited in the amount of abilities and items you can have on your person to start with. However, through questing, you might take on more and wish to amend these to your profile. Whether you are able to depends largely on how good of a Role Player you are. If you fill out the above form and request an item or ability, your score will be used in determining whether or not you're eligible to receive them as rewards for your efforts.
All abilities, skills, spells, items, techniques, and so forth that you request will be assigned to one of five grades: Trivial, Weak, Moderate, Strong, or Epic. These grades are determined by the mods as based on the descriptions given by the player requesting them and are merely to determine the general power or rarity of the item / ability in question.
Scores are based out of 100 possible points. The better you score, the better your rewards will be. For every 20 points you earn, you will have the option of choosing either a greater number of less powerful items / abilities or a limited number of more powerful items / abilities:
0 to 20 - 1 Trivial 21 to 40 - 1 Weak or 2 Trivial 41 to 60 - 1 Moderate or 1 Weak / 1 Trivial or 3 Trivial 61 to 80 - 1 Strong or 1 Moderate / 1 Trivial or 2 Weak or 4 Trivial 81 to 100 - 1 Epic or 1 Strong / 1 Trivial or 1 Moderate / 2 Trivial or 1 Moderate / 1 Weak or 2 Weak / 1 Trivial or 5 Trivial
Alternatively, for every 20 points you get, you can request to increase the grade of an existing item or skill by one level. So, if you get 85 points (four upgrades) on a quest, you might decide to raise 4 Trivial abilities to Weak grade. Or you might choose to raise just 1 Trivial ability up to Epic grade. Or any combination in between. You cannot upgrade something beyond Epic level.
You can also spend some of your points on new abilities / items and some on upgrading existing ones. Any points you choose not to redeem are forfeit; you cannot save them towards another quest.
In addition to scoring, mods also retain the authority to deny any item or ability requests that are deemed too powerful for use in the game (e.g. a gun that can blow up the planet) or if there is some other legitimate reason for denying the request (such as the player did not follow the rules or something). |
